Christopher Meadows has worked as an artist, illustrator and educator for most of his life. He has been involved in creating and promoting visual art in Australia and overseas in Britain, France and Japan.
In 2014 he returned to South Australia to concentrate full time on his painting and sculptural practice, establishing his studio/gallery in the Clare Valley. He has since establishing himself in both the regional and metropolitan art scene, winning several prestigious art awards and with works in both private and public collections throughout Australia.
Underlining his practice as an artist has been his passion for figurative painting and sculpture. He is regarded as a careful compositional draftsman who uses traditional mediums and techniques to develop images that convey an enigmatic quality. Natural and urban landscapes, combined with familiar memories of domestic life remain a constant source of inspiration.
